Saturday was full of excitement at our house.  We had been on goat watch because our Nubian, Rita,  was due on Sunday.  Katy and I checked her before lunch.  It looked like the kids had dropped but there was no other evidence of labor.  After lunch Nick went out to check her.  He came running up to the back door.  The kids were out!  I thrust Talia into Brian’s hands and ran outside.  They were standing up, wet, and crying.  Everyone snapped into action.  We had to move them to an enclosed barn and get heat lamps on them.  Our…

Our dining room table

Our dining room table

Our dining room is a bit odd shaped so when it came to looking for a dining table, nothing out there really fit what we were looking for.  We also needed one that was large.  So we decided to make our own.  It is square and fits 8 people easily – more if we squeeze a little.  Brian did the bulk of the work with some help from the boys.  I think it turned out great.

Fun projects for baby

When we lived in Houston Katy and I were part of a Threads of Love group.  We crocheted edging on fleece blankets and made matching hats. The blankets went to the NICU at a local hospital.   I decided it was a perfect thing to make for our new baby.  I even made matching booties.   The second blanket is flannel on one side and minky on the other.  I also made coordinating burp clothes.    The last project is  nursing cover.  They sell for $35-$50.  That price is out of my budget so I made one.  I spent $7…
